From the Oil Painter's Journal:

Look, I'm an Airplane. Wheeee!
Scarecrows prove the point that gesture reveals much about character. One day I came across this scarecrow at the Peach Tree Farm cooperative garden in Falmouth. It was clear that children had made many of them and there is no doubt that stuffing the hay in these giant dolls caused a frenzy of activity. It was a quiet clear day when I arrived and all the bird-scarers stood there with their heads hung low. I set up in front of this one and it's head perked up a little.
